The purpose of this project is to assist genealogy researchers with their efforts in regard to Millis families. In doing so we need to pay attention to the dates in relation to the location. Prior to 1885, locations in Millis would have been in Medway or East Medway. Prior to November of 1713 East Medway was part of Medfield.
Town boundaries have changed as well! In many cases a particular location in Sherborn is now in Holliston, Franklin is now in Medway, etc. Keep these changes in mind when thinking about where these people lived. An individual could stay in the same house and move from Dedham to Medfield to Medway to East Medway to Millis. At least he ended up in the right place.
Our first project was the transcription of "The Medway Genealogies and Biographies" by E. O. Jameson, published in 1886. The data has been formatted into Family Group Sheets and Pedigree Charts
Our second project is the transcription of the data in a pamphlet titled "A Brief Study of the Blood Lines Created by Intermarriage in a Colonial Puritan Community" by John M. Kingsbury. Many of the same people appear in this data and it is interesting to compare the two sources. Again the info is presented in Family Group Sheets and Pedigree Charts
If you are interested in the Daniels family you may want to visit a web site developed by a descendant of Joseph Daniels. The Daniels of Massachusetts Bay Colony is well worth the "click".
